Check out the full list of FRANKENSTEIN IN MUSIC.

BOBBY PICKETT
In 1962, Bobby Pickett released the that became a Halloween anthem, "Monster Mash." The song is sung from the perspective of a mad scientist whose monster comes to life, begins to dance, and throws a party (see lyrics).

THE EDGAR WINTER GROUP
The Edgar Winter Group recorded their instrumental song, "Frankenstein," in 1972 and released it on their 1973 album, They Only Come Out at Night. The song got its monstrous name because of the way the released song was created. The song was originally over 15 minutes of recorded instrumental 'jamming' the bad did. When they band decided to make it into a song to be released, they knew it had to be shorter. During the editing process, they physically cut the tape into pieces that ended up strewn all over the control room. Then they put it back to create the final song.

ALICE COOPER
Part of the stage show from the The Nightmare Returns tour of 1986, features Alice Cooper battling his creation during "Teenage Frankenstein." The song itself, released on the 1986 album Constrictor, is about a teenage boy who does not feel at home in his own skin and, like Shelley's creature, is ostracized and must observe people from the shadows (see lyrics).

Alice Cooper added another song to Frankenworld in 1991with the release "Feed My Frankenstein" on the album Hey Stoopid. Unlike "Teenage Frankenstein," "Feed My Frankenstein" is a sexually charged song about a man whose libido, that he refers to as his 'Frankenstein,' is out of control (see lyrics). Ever the showman, below is another wild stage performance by Alice Cooper. The song is "Feed My Frankenstein,"and the performance is from the Motley Crue All Bad Things Must Come to an End tour in 2012.

"Dr. Stein" by Helloween

HELLOWEEN
Helloween's "Dr. Stein," released in 1988, is about a scientist who creates monsters and clones people, including his assistant and himself. Like Victor Frankenstein, Dr. Stein faces treachery from his creation (see lyrics).
